New Orleans Jazz: Thirteen Feet, 2014, acrylic on canvas, 16 x 20

I was inspired by street artists on Bourbon Street – well actually it was around the corner on Royal (where I remembered that the car was parked.) I was trying to bring the liveliness of the music to canvas….I think I did, what do you think?

  1. I enjoy the colors , I played the clarinet and sax (not any more) really like to listen to blues and jazz when in my studio. Did grab the essence quite well…looks like Al Hurt playing the trumpet.

  2. Ah you recognized the trouble I was having here with puffing out those checks….I think that my problem is trying to put too much into a small painting…in other words I should work in larger format…like in feet instead of inches (!?) Thanks for your comment….I appreciate it.
