A work in progress….
I was going to call this piece “Ode to Paris,” but…I changed my mind (as I do, at times). “Paris by Moonlight,” 2015, oil on canvas, 30″ x 40″ Speaking directly to the reflection in the window — We all could be in that space in time, by surprise, hanging by our fingertips (pregnant or not) two stories up, conflicted…what next?
It seems there’s a little bit of all of us in the reflection…hanging on, at times, by our fingertips. Still a work in progress.
I guess I’m going places that I hadn’t intended when I started this. Particularly the beginnings of a reflection in the window glass…then there’s those pesky lines in perspective. I’m working on it.
I’ve been on a break, one of those self-imposed hesitancies over what to paint next. I’ve also been thinking of that haunting image of a woman hanging from a ledge after the Paris attacks. It’s a work in progress.
