and after.

My muse introduced me to the M-Theory of quantum physics.  I am always amused by things that I cannot quite comprehend.  That theory posits there are 11 dimensions, and that time is composed of crystals formed by three dimensional equilateral triangles, the smallest length of which (the Planck length) is so small – – – well, the idea confounds me.  But, that’s why we have a crystal, front and center here in this piece.  And yes, while I rarely make statements about any of my paintings, I will say, this crystal is meant to represent time.  Everything else is up to you!

waiting for ideas to gel….

Roaming around the studio, staring at walls where my recent favorites are hung, sketching away…all the things I do before filling my palette with fresh paint and starting anew.  Sometimes the process goes rather quickly and other times I try to recapture the reason that I painted one thing or another for inspiration – for instance, this piece.  It’s not stacked away, it’s in my face everyday, hanging there, boldly announcing its presence!  In the mean time, I guess I’ll just add one more coat of gesso to that blank canvas on the easel….waiting for me to be inspired!

The disbelieving crow…

The strange part about posting the detail of a painting, a work in progress, is that the viewer has no context…I’m going for an expression, one of well, disbelief…as if the crow is  j u s t  n o t  b u y I n g  it….whatever it is.
