***BLINK DETECTED***

That’s so funny.  I was photographing this piece today and my camera lectured me with a big hello digital warning that someone in the photo had blinked.  Aside from the impossibility, I’m a little angry with my camera…if it so damn smart then why oh why can I not take a photo without glare?  I’m blaming my camera.  My camera blames me…when will it end?

It is the end of this piece though.  I was thinking of adding a ribbon to hold that fish atop my model’s head, but no….I thought it might be a bit too distracting.  The title?  The Vanity of Technologies.   Right?

And, you thought I’d finally given up painting?  Well, it has been a while since I’ve done anything worth sharing.   This is what is on the easel at the moment, a nice piece featuring a glass of spilled wine – – spillage without breaking the glass!  It’s a miracle!  A glass saved…although, saved or not, I can’t help but wonder if that bow had anything to do with it.  It’s a work in progress – needing much more paint!  Oil on cheap canvas,

Oh, just stop it!

The Christmas Card Project, 2017, has come to an end.  These are the final three greetings that will be sent out!  Whew!  On to new stuff…or old stuff on new canvas….we’ll see.

Chicanery Continued

The Christmas Card Project is drawing to a close. If you’re unfamiliar, a couple of weeks ago I got the brilliant idea of sending hand painted oil on canvas greeting cards to my friends during the holidays. I’ve completed 15 and I may try to complete three more….I might be running out of ideas for greetings that are even loosely recognizable as being Christmas greetings, but I shall press on!

Remember when I didn’t finish this?

I sat this piece aside for a few days, added the reflections of those eyes in the shiny black tile floor and then never photographed it!  Ha!

I just dove into my next piece and didn’t go back – – – until today.  Adaptation, it’s such a lovely piece once you get used to the idea of it!
