and after.

My muse introduced me to the M-Theory of quantum physics.  I am always amused by things that I cannot quite comprehend.  That theory posits there are 11 dimensions, and that time is composed of crystals formed by three dimensional equilateral triangles, the smallest length of which (the Planck length) is so small – – – well, the idea confounds me.  But, that’s why we have a crystal, front and center here in this piece.  And yes, while I rarely make statements about any of my paintings, I will say, this crystal is meant to represent time.  Everything else is up to you!

before…(after is probably nearer than I think)

Sometimes I feel like, well, in the case of me and my art-making, that painting is a little like constructing a sentence.  The piece needs a subject…without a subject, well, you don’t really have anything….  That’s because, from my perspective, I work with a subject in mind….but, I’m painting along and suddenly I’ve come to realize that I do not know what the subject is here….it’s just too ambiguous I think.  And, there.  I’ve said nothing as well.
