waiting for ideas to gel….

Roaming around the studio, staring at walls where my recent favorites are hung, sketching away…all the things I do before filling my palette with fresh paint and starting anew.  Sometimes the process goes rather quickly and other times I try to recapture the reason that I painted one thing or another for inspiration – for instance, this piece.  It’s not stacked away, it’s in my face everyday, hanging there, boldly announcing its presence!  In the mean time, I guess I’ll just add one more coat of gesso to that blank canvas on the easel….waiting for me to be inspired!

Yesterday I thought that either one of two things was going to happen.  (1) that by miraculous happenstance, I would finish this piece today, or (2) that I would wake up feeling cursed and would struggle for two weeks more.  Well, as unlikely as it would seem…
