High Five: They Might Be Giants

I love how hands can be so expressive.  I was impressed by a photograph that was circulating around the internet a couple of weeks ago when the San Francisco Giants were celebrating a win during the World Series…when I saw it, I knew I wanted to paint those hands, so I saved the photo for a reference.  As I composed the painting I thought I would place these happy hands in a completely different context, like Iraq…to see if they still looked so, well, exuberant….it certainly sparks the imagination!
